Arezzo is a province rich in history, art and culture. The territory is home to traditional Tuscan villages and it is surrounded by four valleys; Valtiberina, Casentino, Valdarno e Valdichiana.
Podere Cisternella in located in Foiano della Chiana, one of the seven municipal districts of the Valdichiana. The other municipal districts of the Valdichiana are the following; Lucignano, Civitella, Marciano della Chiana, Monte San Savino, Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona. The central location of Podere Cisternella allows easy access from one side to the territory of the Valdorcia ( UNESCO World Heritage Site ) which includes the localities of Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Montalcino, Montepulciano and the city of Siena and the other side, the region of Umbria where we find Perugia, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno with its islands that can be visted by ferry boat.
Podere Cisternella is located on one of the hills which dominate the Valdichiana surrounded by agricultural land, woodlands and historic monuments. Surrounding the farm there are footpaths where guests can enjoy the flora and fauna of the area, take time to admire the lake located within the grounds of the farm and observe animals such pheasants and deer aswell as migratory birds such as mallards and storks. Guests are also allowed to fish in the lake.
Whilst walking within the grounds of Podere Cisternella immersed in olive groves and vineyards, close to the farmhouse, guests may come across the 'Ninfeo Romano della Cisternella', a monument of great historic importance dating from Roman times from which the farm takes its name.
